ROTTERDAM, NETHERLANDS - On January 13th and 14th the renewed network event People’s Business took place in the WTC Rotterdam Convention Center. People's Business is the biggest networking event of the region and received a complete make-over. With renewed décor, attractive programs and 98 enthusiastic exhibitors, the event was praised by the visitors. 4,356 innovative entrepreneurs from established brands to start-ups left the WTC full of plans, ideas and vigor. The event was an inspiring start of the New Year for the Rotterdam region.
Roland Wondolleck, Director of the Rotterdam The Hague Airport, opened the event with inspiring words and a ceremonial hit on a gong. People’s Academy, People’s Network and People’s Pitch were the new elements of the event. People’s Academy was held on the first day with presentations by keynote speakers like Nalden (founder of WeTransfer). In the context of networking speed date-sessions were organized. The participants spoke enthusiastically about the new contacts they established during the small networking sessions. People’s Pitch was jointly organized by the Erasmus Center for Entrepreneurship and People’s Business. Two start-ups presented their ideas on the main stage. During the event the Influential Award 2015 ceremony was held, an award which is annually awarded to the most influential entrepreneur of the region Rijnmond in de past year. André Kramer, CEO Kramer Group logistics, received the award from the previous winner, Jan Peter Balkenende (partner Ernst & Young).
The charity that was supported by the event this year was the Ambulance Wish Foundation Netherlands. The foundation fulfills last wishes of non-mobile terminal patients. Through various actions during the event a great amount of 7.500 Euro was raised. This amount fulfills 20 wishes.
