The second VESTI.FINANCE forum at the WTC Moscow

On May 29th and 30th, the World Trade Center Moscow hosted the lectures held as part of the second VESTI.FINANCE Forum, which is dedicated to the state of the modern Russian economic policy.

The open platform of the VESTI.FINANCE Forum is a meeting place for leading experts, economists, researchers and entrepreneurs who are concerned about the situation in the Russian and global economy. The format of the Forum includes public lectures by guest speakers and further discussion of the issues, with the audience able to comment and ask questions.

The Forum was opened on May 29 by the leading expert of the Union of Oil and Gas Producers of Russia, the General Director of “InfoTEK-terminal” and member of the Committee on Energy Strategy and Development of the Energy Industry of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Rustam Tankaev, who made a presentation titled “The methods used in information wars in the world oil and gas sector”.

As a forum follow-up, its host and Head of the Economic News at “Russia-24” news channel Alexey Bobrovsky talked to the Minister of Energy of Russia Alexander Novak, discussing the issue of “New realities of the oil market”. According to Novak, the dynamics of the development of commodity markets is cyclical and the oil market recovery can be expected already by the end of 2017, while the balance of supply and demand in the global oil and gas market has started to recover. The minister also predicted a decline in the share of oil in the world economy by 2040 from 32% to 26% while the share of gas is expected to grow.

The other day Alexey Bobrovsky discussed the myths and the truth about direct investments in Russia with the General Director of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev. A lecture on the subject of inflation targeting was given by the first deputy governor of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation Ksenia Yudaeva.
