LAS VEGAS, NV, USA – In an effort to continue its mission of encouraging international attendance to Las Vegas-based trade shows, the Las Vegas Convention and World Trade Center (WTC LV) welcomed a trade mission from the city of Katowice, Poland on Monday, June 20, 2016.
The visit was co-organized by the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED), the Polish-American Chamber of Commerce of Nevada, and the Consulate of the Republic of Poland in Las Vegas. The goal of the visit was to explore economic development possibilities between Katowice—a key player in Poland’s economy—the state of Nevada and Las Vegas.
The ten delegates hailed from a variety of industries, including higher education, capital ventures, technology, health care, travel and engineering. During their visit to WTC LV, they received an interactive presentation, courtesy of LVCVA’s Vice President of Global Business Sales, Chris Meyer. Topics of discussion included a general overview of LVCVA, the future of trade shows in the midst of changing technologies and the benefits of continuing to have direct human interactions within the business world.
After the presentation, the delegates had a brief tour of WTC LV led by LVCVA’s Vice President of Customer Experience, Hugh Sinnock. In the end, the visit to WTC LV allowed delegates to learn more about the international trade shows held in Las Vegas and opportunities available to their companies.
This visit continues WTC LV’s mission to connect with and attract the Polish trade industry. In 2015, Meyer joined GOED on a special trip to the Polish cities of Warsaw and Krakow, where he also met with Polish tradespeople, introducing them to the Las Vegas brand.
