First Franco-Russian Business Forum in WTC Moscow

MOSCOW, RUSSIA - September 27-29, 2016 the First Franco-Russian Business Forum was held on the premises of WTC Moscow. The main idea of the Forum was developing an open and friendly dialogue between businesses of the two countries in order to enhance business partnerships, build up contacts and exchange experience.

Opening ceremony was preceded by a meeting of experts, who delivered speeches on opportunities, perspectives and regulations for foreign companies aiming to enter Russian market.

At the official opening ceremony welcoming speeches were presented by the First Deputy Head of the Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations of Moscow Mr. Igor Tkach, President of the French Small and Medium-sized Employers’ Organization Mr. Francois Tyurka, representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and others.

Counsellor of the WTC Moscow Director General Mr. Rybakov addressed the participants of the Forum, underlining that their entrepreneurial initiative can make a great contribution to the business cooperation between the two countries. “Meetings and negotiations that are about to start here - are a good opportunity to develop our cooperation” – he said. All speakers made emphasis on the existing close trade, economic and humanitarian ties between the two countries, as well as close cooperation in various areas of long-term interests of both Russia and France.

For three days representatives of business communities of the two countries had active discussions on partnership opportunities. The number of companies that came to Moscow willing to participate in the event showed growing interest of French business in Russian market. In the framework of the Forum 300 meetings between French and Russian businesspersons were held, which have resulted not only in gaining useful contacts, but also in reaching concrete agreements on cooperation. In particular, agreements on cooperation between the French Small and Medium-sized Employers’ Organization and the Russian regions: Moscow and Kaluga regions were signed.

At the signing ceremony, a regional representative of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Benelux countries and France Ms. Elena Medvedeva delivered a speech, naming the First Franco-Russian Business Forum to be a real breakthrough between the two countries in their bilateral relations that are based on a long-term trade and economic ties.

The first Franco-Russian Business Forum has become a landmark event for both countries.
