As the world's most influential digital technology event, COMPUTEX has long been dedicated to addressing global environmental concerns and promoting net-zero carbon emissions and sustainable development initiatives. Following the conclusion of this year's exhibition, COMPUTEX has taken further steps by partnering with One Tree Planted, one of the world's largest ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) nonprofit organizations, to plant 6,000 trees in the Amazon rainforest. This collaboration has established COMPUTEX as a business partner of One Tree Planted, demonstrating its commitment to the planet's well-being.
COMPUTEX 2023 introduced ESG GO! activities to move toward net-zero transformation
COMPUTEX 2023 introduced the ESG GO! series of activities, which received enthusiastic responses from exhibitors and visitors. In addition to the tree-planting initiative in the Amazon rainforest, COMPUTEX hosted the COMPUTEX Forum - Technology Sustainability Innovation Forum, featuring prominent companies such as ASUS, KIOXIA, Delta Electronics, Intel, and more, who shared their insights on sustainable innovations. The event attracted a full house of attendees.
To encourage more companies to engage in sustainable development, the organizers placed ESG GO! green placards on participating companies’ booths that have received sustainability certifications, such as RE100, Dow Jones Sustainability Index, and MSCI ESG Index. Nineteen exhibitors, including ASUS, Acer, MSI, and Foxconn, were honored with this recognition.
Furthermore, COMPUTEX partnered with Acer to launch the Earth Mission app, a 21-day sustainability habits development app. Participants, including exhibitors and visitors, could set their own sustainability goals through the app and commit to a 21-day journey to cultivate ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) habits. During the exhibition, the app was downloaded nearly 3,000 times from users representing 68 countries.
COMPUTEX 2024 to implement SDGs sustainable development goals
COMPUTEX 2024 will continue to uphold the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations by introducing the ESG GO! 2.0. This initiative aims to demonstrate a spirit of altruism for the betterment of the planet. The organizers welcome exhibitors and visitors to participate actively and collectively to work towards a brighter, more sustainable future for all humanity.Â
