CEO OF WTC ACCRA ADDRESSES CHINA INVESTMENT CONF

GUANGZHOU, CHINA - The 20I5 China Enterprises Outbound Investment Conference was held at the Dong Fang Hotel and Marriott China Hotel Guangzhou. The Vice Chairman of CCPIT Mr. Jiang  Zengwei chaired the opening ceremony under the theme “New Vision for Cooperation on International Capacity,” with focus on the “One Belt One Road” strategies. Mr. Chen Jianhua who is currently the Mayor of Guangzhou Municipal Government,. Mr.  Long Guoqiang, Senior Research fellow and Vice President of Development Research Center of the State Council graced the occasion by also giving a brief opening remarks.

Three plenary sessions and four parallel sessions were held. The CEO of WTC Accra Emmanuel Doni-Kwame was a guest speaker and participated in the panel discussion on ”Invest in Africa”. In his submission, made a case for Africa despite the challenges most national economies were facing as a result of huge debts, fall in commodity prices, depreciating currencies and terrorism. He stated that Africa has the capacity to turn a bad story into a good one and that Chinese investors who are concerned about security should see Rwanda and Cote d’Voire as a test case and should not see the Mali attack as a blanket case.

Other Speakers at the conference include Ms. Xu Xiaoyang of Price Waterhouse Coopers and Mr. He Fan, Chief Economist of Caixin Insight group, both spoke on opportunities from the Belt and Road Initiative and International Capacity Cooperation.

Mr Mohamed Lamine Dhaoui, Director of Business Investment and Technology Transfer, UNIDO, Mr. Shi Jiyang , President of the China-Africa Development Fund, Mr. Hao Guilin, China Railway International group and  Mr. James Fierro, CEO OF GLOBAL Capacity Exchange center. These panelist addressed and gave an in depth view concerning the opportunities from the belt and road initiative.
