BANGALORE, INDIA - Students in the Executive M.B.A program in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas are completing a two-week immersion trip to India that included a visit to World Trade Center Bangalore.
World Trade Center Bangalore operates much like World Trade Center Arkansas, which is a part of the U of A. Through cooperative relationships and support, World Trade Center Arkansas and its members can access resources of the worlds major trading centers for information, trade and business contacts as well as a wide variety of specialized international services.
The trade centers are members of the World Trade Center Association, a global network that connects more than 300 world trade centers in more than 100 countries.
Alan Ellstrand, associate dean of academic programs and research in Walton College, and Meredith McKee Adkins, the college’s corporate outreach director, is leading the E.M.B.A group. The trip is part of a semester-long International Business and Globalization course that the students are taking this summer.
The purpose of their visit was to learn about Indian businesses, culture and history and focus on a comparison of the Indian and Chinese markets. They met with companies to develop relationships for the U of A and to explore future business visits for students and student internships.
