WTC Montevideo Contributes to Disease Prevention

Oct 27, 2016

MONTEVIDEO, URUGUAY - For the third consecutive year, World Trade Center Montevideo and WTC Free Zone joined the Breast Cancer Prevention Campaign organized by Roche Laboratory, located in Tower 4. Banco ItaĂș, Basf and Samsung Life, companies located in the complex, were also actively involved in the action of lighting up the towers in pink, the dissemination of prevention messages and several other activities.

October is the Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Montevideo, like other major cities in the world, turns pink, as a symbol of thousands of women fighting the disease.

On October 4th, World Trade Center Montevideo opened its doors to the fight against breast cancer by organizing an activity to reflect upon the disease and by lighting up the towers in pink throughout the month.

In the lobby of Tower 4 an art exhibition called Vivir con Ă©l (Living with it) was held. Nineteen renowned artists took part in it and, through their work, made us reflect on the hope, the struggle and the strength of many of our women who have fought breast cancer.

The exhibition was co-organized with Roche and World Trade Center Montevideo, and the funds raised through the sale of works of art benefitted Clara Berenbau’s Foundation.

The opening event was very well-attended by guests and the press, who acknowledged the high quality of the exhibition and the participation of outstanding artists:

Olga Armand Ugón / Virginia Barranguet / Eduardo Bolioli / Claudio Chanquet / Martha Escondeur / María Etcheverry / Rita Fischer / Fernando Fraga/ Guillermo García Cruz / Santiago Giani / Mane Gurméndez / Gastón Izaguirre / Jorge Mato / Marcos Medina / Mariana Olaso / Virginia Patrone / Sergio Porro / Dani Scharf and Felipe Secco.
