The Winternational Embassy Showcase has become an annual tradition, turning Washington, DC, into a global marketplace and center of cultural exchange, fostering the opportunity for diplomatic corps to share arts, crafts, music, and food with the residents of the nation’s capital. Its prominence led to our biggest year in 2019 with more than 60 embassies participating and 5,000 attendees making it one of the largest cultural events in the region. The emergence of Covid-19, however, has forced us all to reimagine in-person gatherings.
Necessity has created an opportunity to enter the next great phase of this popular experience - the Winternational Virtual Marketplace! This year-long curated marketplace will showcase the cultural heritage of artisans from diaspora communities around the world -- visual and decorative arts, handcrafts, jewelry and artisan-crafted food and beverages. Embassies will showcase their online vendors that the World Trade Center Washington, D.C. (WTCDC) will promote via our platform – connecting their artisans to our network and supporting the economic recovery of artisan communities across the globe!
