WTC Navi Mumbai and WTC Pune Sign Reciprocity Agreement
WTC Navi Mumbai and WTC Pune signed a Reciprocity Agreement on November 25, 2016. This MoU for cooperation envisages exchange of information, organising trade promotion activities jointly for the benefit of Navi Mumbai and Pune regions as well as undertaking new initiatives for growth of trade of the two regions as per the guidelines of the WTCA NY. WTC Pune has already signed such agreements with many WTCs in India and abroad and will now work with the WTC Navi Mumbai to further the cause of business promotion.
MoU was signed during a Seminar organised by the two WTCs in association with D Y Patil University School of Management at Ajeenkya D.Y. Patil University Pune. “ Stimulating Exports from Pune “ was the theme of the Seminar . It was attended by 200+ participants representing Pune industry and exporting community as well as academia – faculty and MBA students – from the region .
The Seminar was addressed by Jayant Ghate of WTC Navi Mumbai and Nikhil Oswal of WTC Pune . Both of them explained how efficiently WTCs network provides wide range of services and facilities to promote international trade and also touched upon how WTCs would contribute to the Seminar theme. Pune is industrially advanced region , growth centre for Engineering , Auto , Food Processing industries , hub for IT & ITES as well as Education sectors , but its exports potential yet remains to be tapped to its full extent.
Other speakers at the Seminar included Vice Chancellor of Ajeenkya D.Y. Patil University Pune Dr. E. B. Khedkar , DYPUSM Director Dr. R Gopal , Serum Institute of Poonawalla Group Director Mr. P C Nambiar , Mr. Venkat Potturu of Schmitz Cargobull Gotha GmbH and Mr. Harshwadan Parikh of Hardchem Group. All of them covered related topics like how Pune industries can promote exports , role of government policies , importance of innovation and supply chain as well as job creation potential in exports from Pune .
The Seminar was followed by active participation from floor . MBA Students elicited keen interest in opportunities in exports , and Guest Speakers shared their expertise and experience with the student participants. WTC Navi Mumbai and WTC Pune will be creating a platform for business , industry and academia to come together in future with emphasis on WTCA mission – We Grow Trade.
